Everyday Flowers for Everyday Joy
You don’t need a special occasion to send flowers. Sometimes you’re just thinking of someone. Sometimes you want to brighten up your own kitchen. Sometimes it’s Tuesday and you deserve flowers.
That’s what Petals and Lace is about. We’ve been in business since 2015, and we’ve learned that the most meaningful flower orders aren’t the grand gestures—they’re the quiet ones. The flowers someone buys themselves after a rough week. The bouquet a friend sends just because they were thinking of you. The arrangement on the table at a dinner party.
About the Shop
Sarah started Petals and Lace after spending years in event planning and realizing that the best part of her job was designing flowers. She wanted to create a space where people could walk in without needing an occasion, pick up fresh flowers, and feel better leaving than when they arrived.
We’re small—Sarah and two designers, Claire and Jordan—and we operate in the Northeast Portland neighborhood we call home. We know our regulars by name. We remember that Mrs. Chen always gets purple hydrangeas. We know that Derek stops by every Friday for a small arrangement to take to his mom.
Our Most Popular Bouquets
The Sunset Garden is our bestseller. It’s a warm, romantic mix of garden roses in coral and peach, lisianthus in cream, and feathery astilbe. Every week someone comes in and just says, “Sunset Garden, please.” It feels expensive but it’s actually one of our most reasonably priced arrangements.
The Portland Morning is our second signature—pale blues, whites, and silvery greens that remind you of those clear April mornings when you can actually see Mount Hood. It’s calming and elegant and somehow appropriate for literally every occasion.
Both arrangements are available as small ($35), medium ($50), and large ($75). We can also fully customize if you want something different.
Seasonal Collection
Spring (April–May): Peonies, garden roses, ranunculus in soft pastels and jewel tones. Lots of fresh green foliage. This is when we get clients saying, “Just make me something springy.”
Summer (June–August): Dahlias, sunflowers, zinnias, bold colors. Definitely our most playful season. We’re building a lot of tight, full arrangements because everything’s in season and blooming.
Fall (September–October): Darker tones, lots of texture. Roses in wine and burgundy, chrysanthemums, hypericum berries, interesting foliage that’s falling but still beautiful. We do a lot of arrangements that feel like a cozy sweater.
Winter (November–February): Hellebores, amaryllis, spray roses, lots of eucalyptus and dried elements. Cooler palette. We lean into the quietness of the season.
Same-Day Delivery
Order by 2pm, get delivery by 6pm (anywhere in Portland, zip codes 97201–97232). It costs $12 and we’re reliable—Sarah personally makes sure deliveries go out on time. We’ve never missed a same-day delivery promise in eleven years.
Or pick up from our studio on Hawthorne Boulevard. You’ll probably find Sarah arranging flowers, and she’ll absolutely chat with you about what’s fresh, what’s coming in, and whether that color you’re thinking about would actually work with the rest of your space.
Customer Reviews
“I moved away from Portland, but I still have my mom get Petals and Lace flowers sent to me. Best flowers I’ve ever received. Sarah somehow always knows the right arrangement to send—like she reads minds.”
— Natalie B.
“Same-day delivery on a Sunday for an apology. Not only did they deliver, but the arrangement was so thoughtful and beautiful that it actually helped me have the conversation I needed to have. Buy these flowers.”
— Greg P.
“I bought flowers from them once and now I’m a regular. I’m in there buying flowers for my kitchen, for friends, for my dates. They’ve literally made me the type of person who gives flowers, which I never was before.”
— Annie L.

FAQ
Can I get same-day delivery on weekends?
Saturday yes, Sunday no. We’re open Saturday 10am–4pm for same-day orders. Anything ordered Sunday gets delivered Monday morning.
What if I order and change my mind?
Call us up to an hour before delivery. We can swap the arrangement, cancel with a full refund, or redeliver with something different. We’re flexible—life happens.
Do you do wedding and event flowers?
Yes, but we’re selective. We book about 15 weddings a year and we do them beautifully. Sarah designs everything personally. Consultations are free and we need 8 weeks’ notice.
How long do flowers last?
With proper care (trim stems, fresh water every two days, keep out of direct sunlight), most arrangements last 7–10 days. Some go longer. We include care cards with every arrangement.
Neighborhood Vibes
We’re located at 3245 Hawthorne Boulevard, right in the heart of SE Portland. There’s parking on the street. We share the block with a coffee roastery (which is convenient—people often grab coffee while they’re here). The neighborhood has changed a lot since we opened in 2015, but it’s stayed quirky and real. You’ll see musicians, dog-walkers, people who just want to spend Saturday morning looking at flowers.
Our studio is small and sometimes it gets crowded on Saturday afternoons, but that’s the energy we like. It feels like community. It feels alive.
